Five Valleys Meningitis Walk for Charity
Join this year’s Five Valleys Walk for charity
We’re looking to link up with the Gloucestershire-based charity Meningitis Now for their flagship, Five Valleys Walk this year.
All the local Scout groups – and their families and friends – have been invited to join the charity for the 21-mile sponsored walk through the beautiful Cotswold hills and valleys around Stroud. Make a note of the date in your diary; it’s Sunday 27 September.
If 21 miles sounds a bit far (and some of the route is quite steep) then don’t worry – you can pick and choose which sections you cover, and get a free bus ride back to your starting point.
This year will be the 34th year the charity has organised this friendly but challenging walk to raise awareness and funds towards its lifesaving and life-changing work. It would be great to see a large Scout presence at this year’s walk, supporting this local good cause.
All those Scouts who do take part can have their walk counted towards their next Hike Away Badge and you might want to use it towards your fundraiser badge. And why not encourage your friends and family to take part too.
Tickets for the event go on sale on the Meningitis Now website in mid-June. Find out more and get yours here (LINK to www.fivevalleyswalk.com).

All participants receive a certificate. Take this along to show your Section Leader and possibly gain your next Hike Staged Badge.
