Rifle Shooting Consent Form Here

Stroud & Tetbury District Scouts owns a Rifle Shooting Mobile Range, which enables participants to shoot in a prone, seated or standing position. Using air rifles, up to 4 individuals can shoot at a time.

Terms & Conditions of Use

The Rifle Shooting Mobile Range may only be operated under the supervision of a suitably qualified rifle shooting instructor. It is the ‘Leader in Charge’s’ responsibility to ensure that the instructor holds an appropriate in-date qualification to carry out the activity (a list of suitable qualifications is listed below).

The Mobile Range may only be operated in an authorised site/location. The authorised venues in Stroud & Tetbury District are as follows:

Cranham Scouting Centre has its own shooting range which should be booked directly with Cranham Scouting Centre.

New venues for the Mobile Range may only be used after a Range Inspection sheet has been completed and the venue approved for use.

The fee for using the Mobile range is £25 per session (morning, afternoon or evening). This includes targets and pellets. This does not include the cost of the instructor or venue.

The Mobile Range may be booked by an adult Leader or Qualified Instructor through the District Activities team email:

Equipment can be collected from the District Store by contacting Darrell Maton on

Equipment is to be returned in good condition within 24 hrs of use. Any damages or issues with the equipment must be reported immediately to Darrell Maton. Any damages may be charged to the last user.

It should be noted that it is an offence to carry firearms on any land not owned by Scouting. Therefore, all movement of the air rifles must be pre-planned to ensure that they are only moved legally.

Permission MUST be obtained from the parents of young people under the age of 18 years to use the rifle shooting equipment. Adults participating in rifle shooting must complete the authorisation form on their own behalf. Permission forms for all participants must be passed to the instructor prior to the start of the session.
