The District Headquarters (also known as St Swithun’s Hall) is located in Leonard Stanley, a small village approximately 3 miles west of Stroud. St Swithun’s Hall is the Stroud & Tetbury District Scout Headquarters.

The facility consists of a large hall, meeting room, kitchen, toilets and showers, and a field for outdoor activities.

Site Activities
Activities include: camping, hiking, sports, games, meetings and parties. The venue can also host archery and rifle shooting for Scouts (by prior arrangement).

Local Activities

Stroud Leisure Centre has outdoor and indoor swimming pools, gym, tennis, squash, fitness suite, extensive grounds containing, a lake, nature trail, miniture railway and the excellent ‘Museum in the park’.

There is common land, woods and the Stroudwater canal nearby for hiking, activities and water activities. The Cotswold Way goes near the hall.

Gloucester is approximately 15 miles away and has a host of places to visit and Activity Centres such as the Warehouse (Climbing Wall, Caving complex and bouldering). For activities in Gloucester, click here.

Local Amenities
Local Supermarkets include: Sainsburys, Tesco, Aldi, Lidl and Morrisons. There is a Co-op store ½ mile from the Centre in Kings Stanley.
There is a Minor Injuries Clinic at Stroud General Hospital (Open Monday to Friday 8.30 am to 5.30 pm).
